Hi, we are Space Monkey.

Located 20 minutes from some of the world's greatest ski resorts, Space Monkey was founded in July of 2011 with one purpose: create a better cloud.

Here's our story.

We realized the cloud is flawed.

We knew that people were creating more data than ever but that they had no place to easily store and share all of it, safely. The Cloud promised to be the answer, but for large amounts of data the traditional cloud was too expensive and too slow.

Then, lightning struck.

We believed that if you could take the cloud out of the data center and move it to the very edge—into consumers homes—then not only could you build a cheaper, faster, and more efficient cloud, but also a more reliable and sustainable product.

Now we are on a mission.

Armed with an idea, a prototype, a slide deck and a little help from our friends on AngelList, we began a new journey to change how the world stores data, forever.
